System Administrator Platform Operations Infrastructure

For our office in Bucharest, Romania, we are looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic System Administrator Platform Operations Infrastructure (Job-ID: 18031) to join our international team at the earliest possible date.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Designs, installs, configures, optimizes, and administers virtualization platform based on Hyper-V technologies and associated management infrastructure (based on System Center suite)
  • Analyzes metrics to identify optimization opportunities and utilization/capacity trends
  • Operates the virtualization platform by performing software and configuration updates as prescribed by internal procedures and guidelines
  • Ensures focus solutions performance through monitoring, analysis and tuning, troubleshooting issues and escalating to higher layers of support as prescribed by company procedures and guidelines
  • Secures focus solutions according to the company policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Participates in projects aimed at delivering improvements in the areas of the focus solutions
  • Functions as a high-level point of escalation in the Incident and Problem management processes
  • Ensures accurate and consistent updates to the Configuration Management Database
  • Assists the Change Management process in assessing the impact of the non-standard requests for change
  • Assists the Release Management process during the release cycle, developing standardized configuration items
  • Assists the Availability Management and IT Continuity Management by providing data for projected service availability analysis for the focus solutions
  • Participates in the Capacity Management process with planning for future acquisitions and upgrades to equipment and software in the areas of the focus solutions
  • Continuously documents the virtualization infrastructure and changes affecting it
  • Administers the backup solution
  • Provides afterhours (rotational) support as needed for problem analysis and resolution

Requirements & attributes:

  • University degree, preferably in computer science or high school degree combined with relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of English language
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience; previous work in an international company desirable
  • Profound knowledge of virtualization technology – (preferably based on Microsoft Hyper-V, System Center Virtual Machine Manager)
  • In depth knowledge of Windows server operating system, especially of server administration and monitoring
  • Good knowledge/experience with installation, configuration and administration of servers and Microsoft failover clustering
  • Experience utilizing PowerShell
  • Experience with enterprise storage (HP 3PAR is an advantage) and backup solutions
  • Availability to travel
  • Availability to work outside of business hours, based on demand or needs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and good understanding of corporate Microsoft infrastructure
  • Good knowledge of hardware and networking
  • Customer oriented, reliable and accountable team player
  • Capable to work on-demand and to work effectively under stress
  • Flexible and adaptable personality, good organizing and prioritizing skills
  • Imagination, capacity to find innovative solutions
  • ITIL Foundation (preferably)
  • Candidate is expected to have a solid moral compass, a high level of ownership and desire to work in a high tempo working environment
  • Certifications in Microsoft Windows operating system administration is a plus
